The New Orleans Pelicans have officially announced their broadcast coverage for the entire 2026-27 NBA season, offering fans more ways to watch than ever before. This news arrives as the team prepares for its final preseason test against the Washington Wizards on October 16, following a 101-97 preseason victory over the Dallas Mavericks on October 14.
Eighty of the Pelicans' 82 regular season games will air on the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network (GCSEN), the team's official TV partner. All four preseason contests will also be on GCSEN. For the first time in franchise history, 20 regular season games will be simulcast for free over the air on WVUE FOX 8. This gives local fans a major new option to catch key matchups without a cable subscription.
Every game shown on GCSEN or FOX 8 will also be available to stream live on Pelicans+, the team's direct-to-consumer service. Pelicans+ subscribers get live game feeds, plus pregame and postgame shows, on-demand replays, and exclusive team content. The service works on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and Smart TVs.
Fans outside the regional market can watch through NBA League Pass. The Pelicans' two international games in Paris and Manchester against the San Antonio Spurs will be televised by Amazon Prime on January 14 and January 17.
Pelicans Team President Dennis Lauscha emphasized the commitment to accessibility. "We are committed to delivering a high-quality broadcast experience that brings Pelicans basketball to as many fans as possible across the Gulf Coast," Lauscha said. He highlighted the partnership with Gray Media and FOX 8, noting it provides "broad accessibility throughout our region, giving fans more flexibility in how they watch."
FOX 8 General Manager Mikel Schaefer shared the excitement. "We are thrilled to offer even more Pelicans games this season on WVUE FOX 8," Schaefer stated. "We are always striving to make as many games available free to Pelicans fans and with a new coach and a lot of great talent, we know it will be an exciting season."
The free over-the-air schedule on FOX 8 starts with the season opener on Wednesday, October 21, against the Indiana Pacers at the Smoothie King Center. It features several marquee national matchups that will draw big audiences.
Highlights include a New Year's Eve game versus the Los Angeles Lakers on December 31, a January 28 meeting with the Philadelphia 76ers, and a tough road test against the Boston Celtics on March 21. The schedule also includes a road game against the defending champion New York Knicks on March 23.
The familiar voices of Joel Meyers and Antonio Daniels are returning to the broadcast booth. Meyers, a three-time Emmy winner, will handle play-by-play for his fourteenth season with the team. Color analyst Antonio Daniels, a former NBA player with 14 seasons of experience, enters his seventh year providing insight. Their chemistry and deep knowledge of the Pelicans roster are a big part of the broadcast experience.
The Pelicans are wrapping up their preseason slate, which has provided a mixed bag of results. After a 116-110 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on October 6, the team fell 128-118 to the Miami Heat on October 8. They bounced back with that 101-97 victory against the Mavericks on October 14. These games are helping the team gel under its new head coach before the real action begins. The final preseason tune-up is at home against the Washington Wizards on October 16.
